HOW VALUABLE REALLY IS TIME?

Time is Gold.

We often hear these words of wisdom from different sites, different people, and even our teachers and parents. However, most people would either ignore the saying or give a different meaning.

A lot of people I encounter would exactly say the same thing. Such as:
Enjoy your life while you are alive.”

A good way of enjoying life has to offer is with your family and friends. Too much however is not a proper use of time.

As the saying suggests, time is gold, some people have done this literally acquiring financial wealth using time as their weapon. CEOs and business owners who are successful in their craft has used this to their advantage.

These people have dedicated their time to learning, development, and use it to their advantage.

How do we improve in using our time?

1. TRAFFIC? NO PROBLEM LISTEN TO AUDIOBOOKS.

The Philippines is one of the countries experiencing traffic roads. A common person would either play online games using their phones or watch the latest series of favorite shows.

However, some people use this to their advantage. Listening to audiobooks and absorbing content that will fill up their minds with their next set of ideas, business strategies, creative and e-learning, or even personal growth and development.

They will be able to execute what they have read to achieve their goals.

2.     BORED AT HOME? THEN READ

You may find yourself too bored at home, especially during times that you are not doing anything. Why not try flipping a page or two to make use of the time? This may turn into a very good habit. There is power in books. Studies suggest that an average person would read one or two books a month, while top executives can read of more than 60 a year.[1]
These books helped them boost more knowledge that they can apply for them to be successful.

3.     HAVE IDEAS OR GOALS? PUT IT IN A JOURNAL

While using a diary or a planner nowadays is not being done by the majority, it is one effective way to put all your ideas and goals into it. You may do so by using apps in your mobile phone, iPad, tablets, or even a regular planner sold in your nearest book centers. This will make you realize that each of us is uniquely gifted with creativity.

It will save you more time if you can put everything in a plan or ideas and follow through these ideas and execute them.

4.     ALWAYS PREPARE YOUR SCHEDULES AHEAD OF TIME.

This world has bombarded us with options on how to maximize our time. Aside from your daily alarm clock, mobile devices and computers can now handle your daily schedules without a hassle. You may want to use this opportunity to put schedules to your calendar. These are productivity tools that we often forgot.

You may also use a manual calendar to ensure you have planned out. These planned out activities may break but will give you the idea that if there are movements, you can re-schedule your tasks on a different date.

5.     LEARN A NEW SKILL

If you think your job is secure enough, you may not be in for a surprise. These days job security is in danger as a simple algorithm can actually replace jobs. These are where the industry is headed right now.

If you have some time for games or being a couch potato, why not use some of it to learn new skills? Having additional skillsets will help you to either side-step your current career or may even be a new means for you to put up the business you always wanted. You may be an accountant or an office worker but is good at article writing or video editing. These skills may save you from losing a job by getting a new one. Nowadays, you can even work from the comfort of your home and be a freelancer instead.

Freelancing has taken over the industry, offshoring more jobs and tasks, the majority of it is for creatives. More industries also believe that freelancing is the future of business.[2]

The proper use of time will give you the advantage. Use it wisely. It will be your friend if you learn how to do it.
